I really enjoy living at 1940 N. Lincoln! My apartment has new hardwood floors, kitchen sink/counter/backsplash, and new sink/cabinet and tile in the bathroom. New windows were installed a few weeks after I moved in. The building is kept super clean. Nick, the building manager, s always working on something and I would see him cleaning every morning. I only needed maintenance once for a minor leaky toilet and it was fixed in two days. I've never had any major bug problems - only the rare spider or centipede (but I've also seen those in every other Chi-apt I've had) Great water pressure/temp! Awesome roof-top deck with skyline views.
Solid, quiet building - I could only hear neighbors when they walked down the halls. I loved the easy online rent payment system. You can set up an auto pay or sign in every month to pay. The small convenience fee (about $1.50) was worth it to me to not have to worry about mailing it early to be on time which is not a strong suit of mine.
I saw a few of PPM's listings, gave them a call, and was connected with Amy Yu (I would highly recommend her!), who made this one of the best leasing experiences I've ever had. She compiled a list of apartments that fit my guidelines, and drove me around to view them on MY schedule (working a 9-5 doesn't allow for much flexibility). I was able to get all my questions answered on the spot, given the pros and cons of each unit, and was never pressured into making a decision about a certain unit on the spot. The information I was given carried through the signing of the lease, and I was not hit with any last minute surprises. It was a real pleasure dealing with Amy and everyone else at PPM. THANKS PPM!!!
I highly recommend 1940 N. Lincoln! It is perfect living near a major intersection like Armitage and Lincoln. It is restaurants and bars galore and always close to mass transportation... these major intersections tend to become the gateways to major festivals – like The Old Town Art Fair and others – it is AWESOME!
1940 N. Lincoln is the perfect address for me. This area is the north part of Old Town, which is a very walkable neighborhood with great restaurants and bars as well as fantastic proximity to Lincoln Park and the lakefront. Not as ritzy as Gold Coast and not as crazy as Wrigleyville, but a convenient and popular spot for young professionals.
